Composting
Composting your horse’s “waste” is an excellent way to deal with the “problem” of manure. Horse manure and shavings can be easily composted using methods tailored to the needs of your individual farm. Composting is surprisingly easy to do and with the assistance of LEPS to guide you through the process, it has never been easier! The photo above shows a model of the three bay system, with a few simple perforated pipes to aerate your manure piles you will have rich compost in just a short time.
