Mapping & Inventory

Mapping and Inventory is a vital component of LEPS' work; without this program, we would not know the existence or locations of sensitive and critical habitats - which means we would not be able to protect them!

Program Objectives

  • Create accurate, up-to-date maps of local natural features
  • Develop and maintain an integrated database and GIS program
  • Identify natural features that must be preserved, protected or restored
  • Make the information available to the stewardship community and all levels of government
  • Collect accurate and usable data through different methods (e.g. mapping, wet/dry surveys, fish sampling)
