September 25– October 15, 2011

WaterWeeks, hosted by Langley Environmental Partners Society in partnership with the Township of Langley, is an annual series of events designed to encourage citizen participation in environmental conservation.  WaterWeeks provides opportunity for residents of all ages to engage in a variety of activities to experience, appreciate, and take action to protect our community’s watercourses, watersheds, groundwater, and wildlife habitats. WaterWeeks activities include free community events and school programming.

The fun starts with the BC RIVERS DAY FESTIVAL on Sunday September 25 11am-4pm at scenic, heritage Williams Park. This year’s free family event offers 25 interactive displays and activity booths including: bird house building, live owls, tree planting, Dancing Bear Story Theatre, Ask a Master Gardener, the Solar Power Road Show, the life size salmon board game, and much more! On-site lunch concession available, featuring local food provided by Wilkys Grill and the Suburban Spoon. The festival will feature live performances by award-winning childrens’ entertainer Will Stroet, the Langley-based Dixieland jazz ensemble The Genuine Jug Band, and popular family entertainer Tony Prophet!!
